Concerto For Percussion (2018) by Mutsuhito Ogino
This is a performance of my friend Mutsuhito Ogino's percussion concerto, composed and dedicated to me in 2018. This is the premier performance with the Cal Poly Wind Ensemble, conducted by Christopher Woodruff. I have also performed it with the San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra under the baton of Jen Martin (watch that performance here), and with the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Anna Binneweg. This is, in my opinion, a wonderful piece of music and a VERY exciting percussion concerto! It's just so much fun! It has also been performed in Taiwan by the Kaohsiung City Wind Orchestra, with soloist Sung-Yee Chu, which can be seen here! I hope more percussionists and conductors discover it--It kicks ass!
